The story
Altstadt Apartments – History meets modernity Welcome to the Altstadt Apartments, a unique project with 4 apartments that perfectly combines history and modernity.
The building, which was built around 1480, is one of the historical treasures (individual monument) of Schongau's old town and has experienced a second heyday thanks to an extensive renovation carried out from 2024 to early 2025. During the renovation, the listed building was modernized with great attention to detail to preserve its historic charm while offering modern comforts and amenities.
The result is four stylish, ultra-modern holiday apartments in four categories. Each apartment combines contemporary furnishings with historic elements, allowing you to enjoy comfort without sacrificing the unique character of the old building.

- 1-room premium apartment (approx. 35m² living space), with terrace in the historic backyard. Ideal for single travelers and couples looking for a comfortable and quiet break.
- 1 room premium apartment (approx. 25m² living space), with balcony in the historic backyard Ideal for single travelers and couples looking for a comfortable and quiet break
- 2-room Junior Suite (approx. 50 m² living space), with balcony overlooking the historic courtyard. Spacious apartments for couples and/or families with modern furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen, and separate bedrooms.
- Penthouse (3 rooms, approx. 100 m² living space), with a large balcony and breathtaking views over the historic city wall to the Alps. This spacious apartment extends over two floors and features high-quality furnishings, a large living area, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a guest bathroom.
We offer exclusive amenities for all guests: The beds are from a renowned German hotel supplier, whose products are manufactured in Germany – for the highest level of comfort and the best sleep. The bed linens are from the Pahl weaving mill, which has been furnishing top hotels and private clinics for decades. Each apartment has a Nespresso Zenius machine. The perfect retreat, whether after an exciting day or while relaxing in the historic ambience.
